Maintenance Schedules for Equipment
If we enter a maintenance/service procedure once, can we use that procedure on another piece of equipment or vehicle without having to re-enter it?
Yes, of course! In EZ Maintenance Web, you can create a maintenance profile that describes the maintenance schedule and materials used for a number of similar vehicles, and any time you want to reuse this maintenance schedule for another vehicle, all you have to do is select it when creating the new vehicle and all the scheduled maintenance for the vehicle will be created.

Can we enter both detailed instructions on how the scheduled maintenance or service is to be performed and the parts and materials required?
Yes, you can enter the individual steps to perform scheduled maintenance as well as the materials used in the maintenance and the parts on the piece of equipment that are to be serviced. All of these items will be printed on the work order.

How do we schedule maintenance and service? Do we have to type in each service date?
No. EZ Maintenance Web automatically schedules equipment maintenance for you. All you have to do when entering a piece of equipment into the application is select the appropriate Maintenance Profile, and EZ Maintenance Web will automatically schedule the maintenance for that piece of equipment based on the types of maintenance in that profile and the frequencies at which they occur. And when you close a work order for a type of maintenance that is supposed to occur, for example, every 30 days, EZM Web will automatically schedule that maintenance to be due 30 days from now.

What is the difference between services and service types?
Service Types can be understood as groups of individual services that are to all be performed together on a regular interval. For example, an "Oil Change" service type done every 3 months may consist of not just the actual oil change itself, but it might also include an air filter replacement and a transmission fluid check. The Services are the individual things that are done in the Service Types, such as the actual changing of the oil or the air filter replacement.

What is the purpose of a Vehicle Service Profile?
Vehicle Service Profiles let you specify the maintenance schedule and how that maintenance is performed for a group of vehicles all with the same maintenance requirements. This is very useful when, for example, you are entering many trucks into the software, all of which require the same maintenance schedule. The existance of the Service Profiles make it easy to specify the maintenance for all of those trucks; instead of entering all of the details for the maintenance of each truck over and over again, you simply select the Service Profile when creating each truck.

How does EZ Maintenance Web know when to schedule maintenance based upon a vehicle's mileage?
EZM Web requires that an operator keep regular logs of the usage of the vehicle so that the application knows when the vehicle is due for service based on how much it has been driven. So, in addition to time intervals, usage intervals can also be entered for maintenance events.

Entering and Viewing Vehicles
Once I've set up a maintenance profile for a vehicle or a machine, do I need to reset everything for another vehicle or machine?
No. EZ Maintenance Web lets you create general descriptions of maintenance for vehicles which all have the same maintenance requirements. When entering many such vehicles, all you have to do is select the service profile you created and the maintenance for that vehicle will be automatically scheduled. It isn't necessary to re-enter all of the individual details for the servicing of those vehicles over and over again.
